Commissioned pieces are very different to my day to day art practice.

They allow me to work with an art lover to create something that is very special to them.

It is a collaborative process that involves many aspects.

First the size of the piece is decided to best suit the space where the painting will hang. Then I work with the collector to build a brief for the subject matter of the painting. Although my work is abstract, I translate the figurative ideas built within the brief into colour.
